What is a rack effect?
Essentially, an Effect Rack is a device for applying one or more effect chains to any given MIDI or audio channel — a chain being your standard ‘one effect after another’ scenario.
Is humidity bad for a guitar amp?
The first thing I guard against humidity is tube amps. All of the heat produced when powered on for hours at a time greatly increases an amp’s tendency to sweat inside the case if the amp doesn’t have a chance to cool down before getting closed up.
Can the cold damage an amp?
It turns out that tube amps can be stored at reasonably cold temperatures without any issues. While temperatures of -40 degree Fahrenheit and beyond can be damaging to some electrical components, the biggest problem that results from storing tube amps in the cold is temperature fluctuation.

For live shows I’d stick with the real amp, even though you can actually run an amp simulation software, or even use the amp sims built into some of the new wireless mixers which sound absolutely fantastic!

Is cold bad for guitar?
Cold air can also dry out your guitar. Keep it out of direct sunlight. If it’s on a stand in your room, make sure it’s not catching any rays. Heavy humidity can soften glue used on bracking, so be aware of those hot summer days.
