Where has DMAX channel gone?

In the May 2018 reorganisation of the Sky main guide, DMAX moved to channel 178. On 7 January 2019, it was announced that DMAX would become a free-to-air channel and be carried on Freeview (channel number 42) and Freesat (channel number 150) from 16 January, replacing sister channel Travel Channel.

As we reported last month, Discovery’s long-running streaming service, dplay, has been rebranded to Discovery+ today, with an added paid tier that will give you access to a bigger library of content. A free tier also exists on the new Discovery+ service, and you can watch it after you register on the new site.

Why can’t I pick up all Freeview channels?

There are a few reasons for this. Not all Freeview channels have their own apps, and even if they do have one, they might not have live content that we can link to. Also not all programmes are licensed to be streamed via mobile.
