When can I start taping my nose after rhinoplasty?
Taping the nasal skin can minimize the likelihood of these undesirable occurrences. I will usually recommend that my rhinoplasty and revision rhinoplasty patients begin taping 2-3 weeks following surgery.
Does taping your nose reduce swelling?
Taping. Taping the bridge of the nose and the area above the tip can significantly reduce postoperative swelling. Gentle pressure from tape can help drain some of the fluid trapped in the tissues and better organize the scarred tissue. This helps to diminish puffiness.
Can you ruin your rhinoplasty by blowing your nose?

In addition, after a rhinoplasty the underlying shape of the nose has been changed by alteration to the shape of the cartilage of the nose. Taping allows the skin of the nose to help conform to this new shape.

Secondary dropping of the nasal tip ruins more results in rhinoplasty than any other feature of the operation. The result of rhinoplasty is usually satisfactory at the end of the operation, but four to six weeks later we unfortunately observe that the tip occasionally droops.
