By Sarah Oconnor

What do I need for a K24 swap?

Here’s a list of what you’ll need to make a swap:

  • The complete engine with all components (fuel lines, wiring harnesses, etc) and a complete transmission to match.
  • A full suite of accessories, hopefully already mounted to the engine you’re using.
  • The engine control unit (ECU) from the original car.

Can you put a K20 head on a K24 block?

It is very compatible in performance with the Type S head. I’ve even heard some others say that in some ways it is better… All of the other heads are no good. The Type S has a way better head design and flows much better than the CRV/Accord/Element heads…. But the 2.4L blocks are the key to making more power….

What transmissions bolt up to a K24?

Registered. 02-06 rsx transmissions either 5 or 6 speed, as well as the 06-11 si 6 speed will bolt on and work with most of your k swap mount kits. If you use a k24 manual transmission from an accord or a tsx you need to get your mount kit (from Hasport) for those transmissions as regular swap mounts won’t work.

How do you tell which k24a2 I have?

The valve cover is up to the top of the strut towers and that RBC is obviously hitting the hood. But look down behind the throttle body onto where the block and the transmission come together. There will be a square piece that is stamped should read “k24a2” or whatever engine it is.

Does K24A have VTEC?

Your K24A2 has 3-lobe VTEC while the K24A is just intake side. With that being said, you’d at least need a new wiring harness, and probably a different ECU. K24A2’s aren’t that expensive anyway.

Should I K-swap my K20A2?

Even the more reason to go K-swap! You’ll need to source yourself an engine, whether it be any series of K-engines; K20A2, K20Z1, K20Z3; K24A1, K24Z1, etc. There are many variations and what vehicles they come out of.
