Almost anyone wanting to remove unwanted hair is a candidate for electrolysis. For men and women electrolysis is usually a safe and permanent process of hair removal. However, it is should not be used for patients with pacemakers because it can interrupt the electronics to cause potentially dangerous heart rhythms.

Generally speaking, electrolysis is safe for most medical conditions. However, if you have diabetes, high blood pressure, hemophilia, any artificial joints or implants like a pacemaker, are on Accutane, or are pregnant, be sure to let us know.
What are the risks of electrolysis?
The most common side effects after an electrolysis session are tenderness, redness and some swelling. These side effects are all normal and temporary. If done improperly, electrolysis can cause infection and permanent scarring.
Can you tan before electrolysis?
Having been in the sun before electrolysis (unless you have a sunburn) does not affect the course of the treatment. With LASER, using sunless tanning products and tan from sun exposure will affect the start of treatment. Tan from sun exposure must be completely gone before starting treatments.
Is galvanic electrolysis safe?
