What is a single stage reloading press?
The most simple type of press is the single stage reloading press. This press holds one die at a time, typically has a very rigid frame, and is most commonly used for rifle reloading. When the lever is pushed down, the ram goes up, and the die acts on the case.
What is progressive reloading?
A progressive reloading press allows people to reload their ammo faster than tedious single-stage presses. Gun and hunting enthusiasts love them because they can reload upwards of three hundred rounds an hour, saving money in the long run.
What is the difference between a progressive press and a turret press?
In a turret press, a single case is held in a case (shell) holder and the various dies are rotated over the case on a revolving turret or tool head. Different progressive presses have a varying number of stations just as turret presses do—typically 3, 4 or 5, but may be as high as 8.
