A person could be suspected of consciously fabricating symptoms or malingering i.e. those who exploit the nature of the disorder and fake symptoms, for some personal or practical gain. Reasons may be for financial compensation or avoidance of criminal charge.

Can FND turn into MS?

FND may also present as a comorbid condition in patients with an accurate diagnosis of MS, in which case both conditions warrant treatment.
