With high scores in weight to volume, comfort, and durability, the ULA Circuit is a great all-around performer. The Circuit is a great all-around pack that can be used in a variety of situations, from ultralight backpacking to wintertime trips into the backcountry.
Is the ULA circuit too big?
Capacity. The Circuit is rated at a 68 liter capacity. For long-distance thru-hikers, that’s HUGE. It’s arguably too big.
Are ULA packs waterproof?
Nearly waterproof. ULA Equipment Packs: ULA packs are a great value. They have much of the performance of HMG packs but cost less. The Circuit Pack will work for most trips, even those requiring a bear canister.
Do ULA packs have frames?
The ULA Circuit has a three-part frame the includes an aluminum frame stay, a plastic stiffening sheet, and a foam pad. The advantage of a frame stay is that you can bend it to fit your back and personalize the fit. Load transfer to the hips is very good and the pack is comfortable with up to 35-pound loads.
