There aren’t any nerves or feeling in the horn, and rhinos rub their horns on various objects to shape them. A rhino’s horn will continue to grow all of its life; if it is cut off, the horn will grow back.
What are the horns?
Horns are composed of a bony core covered with a sheath of keratin. Unlike antlers, horns are never branched, but they do vary from species to species in shape and size. The growth of horns is completely different from that of antlers. In members of the family Bovidae, horns develop from or over the frontals.

In mammals, true horns are found mainly among the ruminant artiodactyls, in the families Antilocapridae (pronghorn) and Bovidae (cattle, goats, antelope etc.).
