Are East Lothian Recycling Centres open during lockdown?

All four of our Recycling Centres are open and can accept the full range of materials. Please remember to folllow physical distancing guidelines when using the sites.

Is East Lothian Council open today?

Customer Services will be open from 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm Monday to Thursday and Fridays 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm. Payments desks will close Monday to Thursday at 4:30pm, and Fridays at 3:30pm.

Are vans allowed in recycling Centres?

Yes, you are allowed to bring a van and trailer with the permitted materials providing there is sufficient capacity in the containers and that waiting times for other sites users are at manageable levels.

What to do with old recycling boxes?

The council has now confirmed the old smaller recycling boxes will be taken away at the end of September or households can keep them if they want to use them for another purpose. Residents who want the old recycling box collected should empty it and leave it at the front of their property on Monday, September 24.
